Why do so many artists refuse to go back to a “standard” vocal mic once they’ve sung on a TELEFUNKEN? Because these mics are meticulously hand-built in the US — Diamond Series legends, Alchemy Series studio workhorses, & the Dynamic Series M80 / M81 that opened up in-ear mixes for touring vocalists, & the M82 broadcast vocal and drum mic.

Diamond Series

The Diamond Series is a line of elite, historically accurate vacuum tube microphone reproductions that meticulously recreate classic, highly sought-after vintage microphones.

What differentiates the Diamond Series?  Rather than being "inspired by" vintage gear, these microphones are reverse-engineered piece-by-piece to match the original mechanical and electrical circuit values of historic designs. The Diamond series are exact reproductions.

Hand-Built in the USA: Almost all components are custom-tooled, machined, hand-assembled, and tested at Telefunken's facility in South Windsor, Connecticut.

Microphones in the Series: The Diamond Series consists of five primary configurations (three main models & two variants. They are the C12. ELA M 251, U47, & the U48.

Alchemy Series

The Telefunken Alchemy Series is highly regarded because it delivers legendary, vintage-inspired studio sonics at a more accessible price point than Telefunken's ultra-premium Diamond Series. It serves as a modern bridge that provides studios with distinct, professional "vocal flavors" and high-end component construction without requiring a five-figure investment.

What makes the Alchemy Series Special?  Each microphone is hand-assembled and individually tested at TELEFUNKEN’s Connecticut facility alongside the Diamond Series, with carefully tested capsules and tubes for exceptional consistency and performance.  Every capsule undergoes frequency sweeps, and every vacuum tube is burned in & noise-graded to guarantee tight tolerances.

Reengineered two-layer steel headgrilles, inspired by the legendary ELA M 251E, provide a more open, transparent sound with reduced resonance.

Microphones in the Series: Three distinctive sonic voices—German (TF47 / TF17), Austrian (TF51 / TF11), and American (TF29 / TF39 Copperhead)—give artists and engineers a range of classic tonal choices.

M80/M81 Dynamic Series

Custom Shop colors. Hand-assembled in the USA, this series offers a premium, road-ready upgrade over common stage dynamics, letting vocals & critical instruments cut through dense live mixes with exceptional clarity.  With a tight supercardioid polar pattern, they ignores ambient stage bleed (like cymbals or side-stage wedges) & aggressively combats upper-midrange feedback. Wired and wireless capsule versions.

What makes the M80/M81 Dynamic Series Special? The heart of the series is a custom studio condenser-sized 25mm dynamic moving-coil capsule with an exceptionally thin Mylar membrane. This ultra-low mass allows the capsule to react much faster to sound waves than standard dynamic mics, resulting in a hyper-detailed, fast transient response that mimics a studio condenser microphone.

Instead of standard internal circuitry, the series uses a custom-wound Telefunken Elektroakustik T80 impedance-matching output transformer that automatically steps up & stabilizes impedance levels regardless of the mixing board or preamp, ensuring your mic preserves its full sonic footprint & tonality on any stage.

The capsule & headgrille are optimized to reduce the muddy "boomy" buildup that happens when a singer gets right on top of the grille.

Microphones in the Series: Two distinctive sonic voices—Condenser sounding dynamics (M80, M80-SH, M80-WH, M80-WH2), condenser sound pulling back the high-end extension slightly to offer a much flatter, neutral response(M81, M81-SH, M81-WH, M81-WH2).

M82 Dynamic Mic

The Telefunken M82 is a specialized, large-diaphragm dynamic microphone with a huge 35mm diaphragm designed to deliver massive low-end punch & tailored presence. Unlike standard kick drum mics that only do one job, the M82 features onboard dual-switch active EQ filters that allow it to instantly transform from a scooped, clicky bass drum powerhouse into a warm, authoritative broadcast/podcasting voiceover or guitar cab microphone.

What makes the M82 Special?  The defining feature of the M82 is its two discrete toggle switches—KICK EQ & HIGH BOOST. You get four entirely distinct frequency response curves out of a single mic. KICK EQ applies a targeted 6 dB cut at 360 Hz. This instantly scoops out the muddy, boxy low-mids that plague drum captures, giving you clean low-end warmth & top-end crack. The HIGH BOOST lifts the upper-midrange & highs starting around 2 kHz (with a 4 dB peak at 10 kHz). This adds air, detail, & articulation to vocals, podcasters, or the drum “beater click". The massive surface area of the 32mm capsule gives it an incredibly robust, deep low-frequency extension (beating out standard handheld dynamics) while handling extreme SPL without distortion.

Compelling Reason for the M82:  If you run a project studio & can't afford dedicated single-use microphones, the M82 covers your two most difficult tasks. With both switches off, it is a flat, warm broadcast vocal and brass mic. Flip the switches, and it's an amazing top-tier dedicated bass drum microphones.
